[Jimmy doesn't always sit around drinking alone, but when he does, he goes for straight whiskey. Might as well cut out the middleman if you're drinking to get drunk. He's already had a couple drinks, but he's looking around the empty room again, like he's hoping someone'll show up. He's really not feeling like spending the rest of the night by himself.]
[The somebody for Angela didn't show up tonight which is why the late hour finds her walking into this bar by herself, shaking the rain off her umbrella as she stands by the entrance. Her date stood her up and while she's disappointed (disappointed, not sad, there's a difference. It's his loss, really.) there's no reason why she needs to go straight home when she's already dressed up.
She dumps her umbrella in a bucket that's stationed by the door and heads toward the bar, clad in a seriously snug black backless number, looking far too fancy for these digs. But she doesn't care. All she wants is a dirty martini with extra olives.]
[When Angela shows up, he's staring into his glass again, so he misses her entrance. Still, when she walks up to the bar, of course he notices her -- in a dress like that, there's no way he could have missed her -- and looks at her appreciatively.
He's pretty sure he doesn't look great, sitting alone at the bar like this, sour expression on his face, so as soon as she could possibly be looking at him, he offers a slight smile. Nothing flirtatious, necessarily, just a smile and a nod.]
[Her feet dangle off the barstool, heels clicking lightly against the metal pole of the seat as she plucks the toothpick holding the four olives in her drink out and pulls one off between her teeth. Angela doesn't notice him until she's finished chewing, hand in her chin as she smiles back, taking in his sad aura. They're both drinking alone. Never a good sign in an almost empty bar.]
[It certainly hadn't been a good evening. The empty glasses that had once held whiskey sitting beside him on the bar could attest to that. It wasn't like he was drunk, but he wasn't exactly sober, either.]
[She curls her lip, almost like she shrugging with her mouth, and nods towards the door.]
Let's just say the rain didn't help me any. [Eyes back on him, or the bottle rather, Angela takes a chance on making commentary.] Was that new bottle when you got it?
[With the glass full, she sips at it, feeling the burn in her throat before setting it down. Whiskey has never been one of her good friends, but that's never stopped Angela before.]
[Angela truly is. Maybe he did something wrong, maybe he didn't. He doesn't seem to be giving up any more details so she can't really say much more than general sympathies.]
Re: Welllll kinda but then she went back to him which was dumb because Jimmy is bad news
I'm hoping he got hit by a car on the way there and that's why he didn't show up. Valid emergency.
[Wow. A little gruesome, but hey, it's a honest response. She wasted an hour waiting with no call and definitely no show and it got worse when the waiter asked if she was sure she had the right restaurant. Compassion? Angela has none for that guy.]

[And then he lifts the bottle in offering.]

Jimmy. Nice to meet you.

[Other than him being so drunk already that everything and anything is hilarious right now.]
no subject
[He shrugs and takes another long swig from his drink.]

[Angela's nosy. Jimmy will have to deal with it.]
no subject
[That's certainly how he'd put it, if pressed to put it any particular way.]

[Because being an Angela, she knows Angelas have a reason not to like somebody. And said reasons are usually valid.]
Just gonna AU his canon to be slightly less depressing heeeere...
technically this did kinda happen, though it was the photo lady and she wasnt a neighbor lol

Re: Welllll kinda but then she went back to him which was dumb because Jimmy is bad news
[Mostly. Or it'll be all right. As soon as he has more of this whiskey.]
What's a girl like you doin' alone in a place like this?
no subject
Thought I had a date.
no subject
[He'd never have stood her up for a date. Especially not if she was wearing a dress like that.]

no subject
Yeah, hopefully. Or maybe he got into a fight for bein' an asshole, 'cause he obviously is.
no subject
[And she sips her whiskey all ladylike, like she didn't even wish suffering on a person.]
