[This bartender always gets a great tip from Jimmy, what with how much time he spends in this particular bar.]

Sure, it pays the rent, 'n feeds me, so I guess I can't complain.

Then that's all that matters. Don't let anybody tell you any differently.

[She holds her drink up towards him, tipping it slightly.]

[He's glad she walked into this bar tonight. Okay, sure, he's not exactly happy that she got stood up on her date, but it sure gave him the chance to meet her.]

Y'know, I gotta say, that dress looks amazin' on you.

[Angela glances down at the dress, almost forgetting she was so done up tonight, and smiles as looks back at him.]

Thank you. I figured if I was already all dressed up, I might as well find someplace to go.

[trenchknives]

If I'd've known I'd run into someone dressed like you, I'd've tried to look nicer.

[He doesn't look bad, exactly, just casual.]

To impress me or to have a fashion show runoff?

[She's pretty sure it's the first option, but she's just teasing.]

Hell, to impress you. I'd lose a fashion show against you, I'm pretty damn sure.

[thenormalsquint]

[Holding up a finger, Angela takes a sip before answering. Impressions are important, but some less so for her.]

You look fine the way you are, Jimmy. Yes, I like men in suits, but if you're comfortable and clean, so be it. I'm impressed by originality and comfort more than peacocking.

I'm usually in a suit. But you look a hell of a lot better 'n me any day. It's gotta be that artist thing -- artists always look good.

[At least the artists he's met.]

That's what you say, but you haven't seen me when I've just woken up.

[trenchknives]

I'd sure like to.

[thenormalsquint]

[One of her eyebrows cocks up, as she sips again.]

Are you trying to say you want to fuck me?

[Well, somebody's awfully blunt.]

I'd have to be crazy not to.

[Blunt is good. He likes blunt.]

[Angela's quiet for a few moments, like she's in serious thought over there. maybe her morals are at play. You know, she just met this guy, she doesn't even know his last name, she's on some kind of rebound... but the truth is, she just wants to finish her martini first. So one her glass is empty, she eating the rest of her olives pretty damn quickly.]

I live around the corner.

[trenchknives]

[He can't help but laugh a little in surprise. That wasn't quite what he'd been expecting, but there's no way he'd turn it down.]

No shit? Lead the way, then.

[thenormalsquint]

[Expect the unexpected with this one. You'll always get it.]

Easy, tiger. You still have to pay the guy. [Though she's pulling money out from her purse to pay for her first drink anyway.]

[trenchknives]

The bartender 'n I have an arrangement.

[Which is why he tips generously.]

'n you ain't payin' for anything. It's on me.

You bought me one drink. I bought the other. Agree to disagree.

[If this guy has any sense, he won't argue. He's about to get screwed senseless by a woman who barely knows him. Angela hopes he doesn't fuck it up.]

[trenchknives]

[He nods.]

Yeah, fair enough.

[He knows better than to argue about money with someone he just met -- and someone he's about to have sex with, assuming everything goes well.]

[thenormalsquint]

[Money on the bartop, she hops off the stool and heads toward the door, picking up her umbrella. It's still raining, no lighter nor heavier than earlier.]

Hurry up before I decide to go to bed alone.

[trenchknives]

I'm right behind you.

[Like hell he wouldn't hurry up with an offer like that on the line. He picks up his jacket where he'd hung it by the door and drapes it over one arm -- it doesn't sound like they'll be going far, and it's not that cold anyway.]

[It's less than a minute's walk to her place--when she said around the corner, Angela honestly meant it. Her apartment building is the first one they hit when they turn the curve. It's a nice one, a brownstone, and she leads him up the thick stone steps and into the doorway away from the rain where she tugs him towards her so she can taste the remnants of whiskey on his lips.

There's still one more door and another set of steps to get to her apartment, but that can wait.]

[trenchknives]

[It's a nicer neighborhood than his, that's for sure, and he's just admiring the apartment building when she pulls him towards her. His arms wrap around her instinctively, and he kisses her back, smiling a little even as he does so.]

[thenormalsquint]

[She's too busy searching his mouth with her tongue, seeking more of the whiskey and his own flavor while her fingers flex in the lapels of his shirt. Pulling away, but not too much where she leaves his embrace, she's shoving the keys into the second door.]

Nice lips. Been wanting to do that all night.
